Our mission
Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White Health promotes the well-being of all individuals, families and communities.
Our history
Providing inpatient and outpatient services focused on preventive heart health and comprehensive cardiovascular disease management, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital cares for patients who travel nationally and internationally for heart care and treatment.
Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital, joint ownership with physicians, is part of Baylor Scott & White Health, a result of the 2013 merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Health.
Resident wellness
Resident well-being is an essential part of our curriculum. We understand the importance of learning outside clinical settings, and we value team building and collaboration. We host several different wellness events and support a wellness committee.
2014, Fort Worth
Thanks to the historic collaboration between the formerly named Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, in late 2014, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Fort Worth provides expanded cardiac services and greater access for heart patients to research studies and clinical trials. A 26,000-square-foot diagnostic and treatment center anchors the fifth and sixth floor, featuring cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and non-invasive cardiology services. Other services include Valve Disorders Center, Heart Rhythm Center, Sleep Center, Structural Heart Disease Program and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Community service
The teams at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital - Dallas, Fort Worth and Waxahachie are committed to the mission of giving back to the community by providing health screenings and preventive health education. Community outreach also means informing and educating the broader community and identifying neighborhoods in need. It also leads to collaboration with civic organizations, city government departments and churches that strive to help improve community health.
Every three years, Baylor Scott & White Health completes a Community Health Needs Assessment in every region where a Baylor Scott & White facility is located. As part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex health communities, the assessment reports for Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital guide many of the outreach initiatives for hospital leaders in their respective markets.
Community volunteerism
The team at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital remains committed to providing all employees with opportunities to be actively involved in the community.
Community advisory council
The Community Advisory Council provides suggestions about how to become involved in community organizations.
Community wellness and screening events
We work with area churches and YMCAs, wellness fairs and health screenings that are staffed by clinical teams in order to provide heart-healthy information, as well as provide blood pressure screenings with education on hypertension. The Watson Health Heart Disease Estimates identified hypertension as the most prevalent heart disease diagnosis in much of the greater service area. With requests from heart-healthy information to screenings, the team at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas and Fort Worth accept opportunities to provide much-needed hypertension education and blood pressure screenings, especially in underserved areas.
STARRS committee
The STARRS committee (Services, Training, Accountability, Recruitment, Retention and Satisfaction) of employees meets regularly to discuss community involvement and requests from various organizations that need assistance. The committee is also dedicated to reaching out to economically challenged neighborhoods with heart-healthy information.
